Physiotherapy is the treatment and prevention of injury and disease by natural means. The aim of physiotherapy is to help alleviate pain, restore normal movement and function and help return the body to its natural, balanced state. But it doesn’t just stop there, as well as relieving symptoms, physiotherapy teaches long term self management of musculo-skeletal problems enabling people to prevent further episodes.

At Bristol Physio we have a wide range of treatment options that we bespoke to your needs. Treatment is individualised giving you the best possible outcomes and why we are not your average physio service!

Shockwave therapy can be used in conjunction with usual physiotherapy to help relieve the pain associated with tendonopathy. It is ideal for Achilles tendonopathy, greater trochanter syndrome and bursitis, rotator cuff tendonopathy, shoulder calcification, plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow as well as other tendon disorders. Extracorporeal shockwave is a non-evasive, non-electrical, high energy sound wave that passes through the body tissue via a hand-held probe. In our experience, 80% of patients report significant reduction of pain after three to five sessions.
All our therapists are trained in administering shockwave therapy and are available to determine whether shock therapy is suitable for you.

Physiotherapist Tony Gill is qualified as a non-medical prescriber. In conjunction with his physio therapy session he is able to offer prescription services where appropriate.
Pain relief through the NHS often involves an extended waiting period so in the cases where pain is affecting immediate function and general quality of life, the ability to access private prescription in a timely fashion can give significant relief.
Prescriptions can only be made after a consultation with Tony Gill to ensure that it is the best suitable treatment for you.

Most of our therapists at Bristol Physio are qualified in acupuncture, and have been for many years. Conventional acupuncture involves the use of single-use, pre-sterilised disposable needles of varying widths and lengths that pierce the skin at the acupuncture points.
