Paediatric physiotherapy focuses on the physical development of babies, children and young people. Our physiotherapists work with a wide range of conditions, including:
Developmental delays in movement and coordination
Musculoskeletal problems such as pain, stiffness and weakness
Neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida and Down’s syndrome
Orthopaedic conditions such as fractures, dislocations and postural problems
Sporting injuries such as Sever’s Disease, Osgood-Schlatter Disease and muscle strains
Our paediatric physiotherapy sessions are tailored to your child’s individual needs and goals. We use a variety of techniques, including:
Play-based therapy: Making physiotherapy fun and engaging for children
Movement exercises: Helping children improve their strength, coordination and balance
Stretching and massage: Reducing pain and stiffness
Gait and balance training: Improving walking patterns and preventing falls
Hydrotherapy: Using water-based exercises to improve movement and relaxation
Targeted exercises with the appropriate guidance in those movements will ensure your child develops their coordination and control over their limbs and find joy in movement
Whether it be through short term injury or longer term condition, we can help your child move more freely and with less pain. We can also perform some manual techniques, like massage, to help with this
Movement means freedom and independence! Your child will learn how best to manage their injury or condition to achieve their goals, be that dressing themselves, getting to school, or participating & performing in their chosen sport!
With joyful movement comes independence and with independence comes confidence! Help your child’s self esteem with fun activities and exercises, with focus on what they can do and a little help to reach those goals
We’re here to help guide you and your child towards pain free, mobile and strong movement that lasts a lifetime - and this opens up a lot of doors towards their chosen sports and fun activities. Let’s go!
We work closely with both you and your child, ensuring exercises and activities are enjoyable and effective. Together, we create a plan that supports your child’s needs and celebrates every step of progress.
