Gemma Addison
A Mummy MOT is a specialist postnatal examination for women following both vaginal and C-section deliveries. It will assess how your posture, pelvic floor and stomach muscles are recovering after childbirth.
Up to half of all women experience weakness in their abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy which can cause instability or poor core strength leading to women developing pelvic pain or bladder, bowel, sexual dysfunction and pain. Worryingly many women just put up with it as par for the course, but the message is clear postnatal rehab works.
A Mummy MOT will evaluate pelvic floor health, addressing issues such as incontinence and prolapse. A full assessment will identify any issues and Gemma will discuss appropriate exercises and management techniques.
Gemma’s unique physiotherapy qualification with the Mummy MOT certification is absolutely perfect for active women getting back into sport postpartum. Her knowledge is unparalleled in this field, giving you the confidence to get back to the sports you love.
A Mummy MOT takes a holistic approach to health, considering both physical and mental well-being. Gemma will include a discussion on how things are going generally and offer advice and support as needed.
